Deborah Leigh

Deborah Leigh Artist

Deborah was born in Prince George, B.C., Canada in 1951.

In her fifties while recovering from an illness, she began to draw as a form of relaxation.

She started with tiny black and white drawings. The shapes and forms gradually grew larger and morphed into interesting surreal landscapes, creatures, people, foliage ,trees, houses and so on.

Soon, it became a full-time profession and passion.

Deborah is self-taught, her images come from her imagination, her sub-conscience and her intuition.

Artist Statement.

My hope is that viewers could be drawn into my images with a sense of curiosity, wonderment, and questioning of what the images might portray to them in their own minds and words.

My art is about escapism, places where we can just let go, of our everyday concerns and challenges. With in my creations, I find a sense of freedom and peace.
